I think that in early years of school, like kindergarten through second, there should be classes that teach people how to think critically and creatively. These skills are not "school" skills, but they are important to how a person develops and learns for the rest of their life. As students mature and become more independent, they should also learn how to take care of themselves and prepare for not just their careers but for life on their own. Otherwise, classes should stay essentially how they are, and students should retain the ability to cater their class schedules to their interests.
